IV. Report: none
V. Instructions by Deputy Commander:
- The latest data indicate that the rainfall has shown significant signs of receding in early morning today (May 23) as the southwesterly flow became weak and the weather front drifted south. At present, there are only 10 reported water accumulations still scattered across various areas and the utility and life support group is asked to help local governments with the water draining. Some 60,000 houses experienced power outage last night and Taiwan Power Corp. did a great job to restore power to almost all of them, except 3 houses. The hard work of frontline workers deserves our gratitude.
- Public transportations on land, in the air and by sea are all back to normal, except that a few highways are still closed as a precaution. The transportation engineering group is asked to keep people up to date regarding the latest roadblocks.
- Days of torrential rain have saturated the soil on hill slopes and the risk of landslide is of a high concern. It is expected to see local downpour in the next few days. Therefore, the agriculture group is asked to keep a close eye on the development.
