The center of the mild Typhoon Bailu (international name Bailu) was located at 19.7° N and 124.6° E, which is above the ocean, in about 500 kilometers above the southeast of Taitung, moving toward northwest at a speed of 29. The central air pressure is 980 hPa, and the maximum wind speed near the center is 28 meters per second (about 101 kilometers per hour), which is equivalent to Beaufort 10 wind. The maximum instantaneous gust is 35 meters per second (about 126 kilometers per hour), which is equivalent to Beaufort 12 wind. The Beaufort 7 storm wind radius is 120 kilometers. It is predicted that the center will be located at 22.9° N and 119.6° E, which is about 70 kilometers above the south of Penghu.
Based on the latest weather data, the center of No. 11 typhoon is currently located above the southeast of Taitung, moving northwest, and its storm circle is gradually approaching the ocean in southeastern Taiwan, posing a threat to areas which are in the south of Changhua, Nantou, Hualien, Taitung, Hengchun Peninsula and Penghu; it is predicted that the future strength of this typhoon will increase and the storm circle will expand.
Land Warning Areas: Hualien, Taitung (including Lanyu, Green Island), Hengchun Peninsula, Pingtung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, Yunlin, Changhua, Nantou and Penhu areas should be strictly alert to strong winds and heavy rains; sea warning areas: Sailing and working vessels on the sea surface of the eastern Taiwan, the Bashi Channel, the Taiwan Strait and the Dongsha Island shall be strictly alert.
Influenced by the typhoon and its peripheral circulation, strong gusts will occur in the northern, the eastern (including Lanyu, Green Island), the southern Taiwan and the Penghu, Kinmen and Mazu coastal areas; there will be long waves in the northern, the eastern Taiwan (including Lanyu, Green Island) and the coastal area of Hengchun Peninsula. Please pay attention to safety when going to the beach.
