0806 Torrential Rain Disaster Response Measures and Report No. 1

I. The dynamic status of the typhoon (data source: Central Weather Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications)
 
        Affected by the tropical depression and southwesterly airflow, there is a high probability for the occurrence of short-duration heavy rain. Local heavy rains or torrential rains in the mountainous regions of Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County are expected to occur today (8/7); local heavy rains or torrential rains are also expected to occur in Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County , Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Penghu County and Lianjiang County; local heavy rains are expected to occur in Taoyuan to Miaoli, Chiayi City, Taitung area and mountainous regions in Hualien, please pay attention to the lightning and strong winds; with the rains for the past few days, please be aware of mudslides and falling rock in the mountainous region and the low-lying areas need to be aware of flood. Torrential rains are expected to occur in Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County.

Establishment of level-one disaster response center: Tainan Yunlin County.
Establishment of level-two disaster response center: None.
Establishment of level-three disaster response center: Taichung City, Changhua County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County.

4. The dispatched manpower and facilities
(1) The police department dispatched 933 person times.
(3) 120 person times and 22 vehicles were dispatched by the National Army supports.
(4) 1,525 large-scale portable pumps were provided throughout Taiwan.

2. Disaster status of lifeline (data source: Ministry of Economic Affairs): Electricity, tap water, landline phone and cell phone stations are all normal operation.

(6) Air transportation: 21 domestic flights were cancelled.
(7) Sea transportation: 42 sea voyages in 6 routes were cancelled.
